Can anyone tell me what a message is that I get on my display after I end a call to voice mail - after ending the call I have 3 rings and then the display says: "information received" - with the options display then changing to INFO and EXIT, clicking INFO it then shows "sender 50" and I click the end call button again & it goes away.

This started about a month after I started with Cingular, they can't tell me why this happens, there are no formal messages in my text inbox. Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

That is interesting, I work at a T-Mobile, Nextel and Cingular dealer and I JUST had a woman with a 3120 with the SAME EXACT ISSUE! If anyone has any information about this please post! icon_exclaim.gif icon_exclaim.gif

Huh. That's new on me. Most Cingular reps are going to either advise that they'll ifle a case on it (and those can vary from prompt reolution to get lost in the shuffle), or you can ask them to delete voicemail from the account, and then re-add it. It 's rare that we'd use that method to solve the problem, but it's possible that re-adding it can fix it.

What we can do as reps is remove your Voicemail from your account and re-add it as Feeple stated. This would however have a downside.

It would give you a fresh vmail to rerecord your greeting and clear any messages you have in your voicemail box.

I finally had enough of the run-around & called Cingular warranty & demanded that they replace the phone since after several tries of deleting my VM & other 'troubleshooting' the problem still persisted. I have a new phone now (or at least it's from warranty but has two seams through the sides as if it was a rebuild) and the problem is gone. Can't imagine how it was the phone & not the Cingular system as it interacted with the phone & basically was not clearing the VM after I ended the call.

I did some more research on this issue. From what I learned, this is a normal behind-the-scenes function of the phone, just a small batch of 3120's seem to have a faulty line of code in the OS where it is showing up. I told the customer that had the issue that I honestly dont belive it is worth getting a warentee replacement. There is no harm to phone and it does not cost anything when you see it. I would save the replacement for a more serious issue.

I have a Nokia 3220 phone with this problem. I get the message received alert so I press the info button to see what information I have received, but,all I see is "caller 50". I called cingular and told them about the problem. They then sent me a replacement phone also a 3220. But that didn't work. So I called them back and they said oh, we can fix that just let us send you an update. But still the messages continued sometimes up to 20 times a day! Some of you might think it's not a big problem but when your son is in the hospital and your cell phone keeps going off at 3 and 4am in the morning IT MAKES YOU VERY NERVOUS not to mention interrupts your sleep that your not getting much of in the first place! icon_frown.gif

Nokia 6102 Send 50 error. Customer receives this error when other customers leave him a VM. A case was completed on this account with the message:

"Terminal firmware version to get firmware version *#0000# v05.01 15-11-04rh-50CNokia"

I read this message to mean that the customer dials *#0000# to receive the updated firmware
