ok sorry to keep on buggin you all but i tried it again last night and i noticed when i try to use the modem exchange method you had mentioned earlier and the modem that is listed right above the moden exchange button is the modem i use to dial up the internet . when i change the modem setting and pick my v400 it installs it and then my internet kicks off saying my modem is in use by another session. then i shut my phone off and it wont let me dial up anymore. . .i think it is trying to use my phone as a modem instead of the modem in my computer. . .i might be totally off base but that is what i seems to me. . what should i do ???

i have come up with zip. . totally confused . . i know you all have helped me tremendously and i guess i need on more favor. . still cannont get my pc to identify the usb modem / drivers .. .it all shows up then just wont work. . i called BVRP software and after 1 1/2 on the phone with them they said it was a Motorola problem with my phone. . so i called motorola. . and after 2 hours on the phone with them doing everything that you all had stated on here earlier the guy at motorola finally said it must be the mobile phone tools that i have. ., so again i uninstalled it and reinstalled mpt and did the live update. . still same thing. . .i called bvrp back while doing the fresh install this time and we noticed that when you install the usb modem while having device manager open it goes from being in other devices then says modem installed and all of a sudden it drops from modems to universal serial bus section at the bottom of device manager then starts giving error. . so bvrp says again the problem is in the phone. . so i call motorola back. . same thing from motorola. . they say its my mobile phone tools. . .what do i do??? thanks
