i have a motorola v400 that i recently purchased a usb cable and mpt and did the live update to 3.23 version. . it shows my v400 phone on the screen and the side header shows all the icons but cannont use any of the icons. . they are visibile but not able to click on. . the screen on my phone goes to charging and the phone that pops up on my pc the screen says initialzing................ the shows a red negative in the screen . . . any suggestions? another thing is everytime i connect my phone it goes thru the wizard and then gives me an error that the drivers cannot be installed due to specific path? im lost..............

Your problem is you bought the charging data cable, you will elimianting this problem if you have data cable only.
Try to fully charge you battery before run with MPT see if it will kick out of charging function and allow you to do some other thing.

guess that was my stupidness when i bought the cable it came with a car charger as well. . and when i first plugged it up it started charging. . thought was kinda odd but..........thanks . .guess lesson learned on my behalf. as for having it fully charged. . i have set for hours and hours trying to get this to work and it has been fully charged and still every time i start the mpt my actual phone says charge complete. . . so do you think i need to just go and buy a data cable only?

I would resell it and get the data cable only and if you would spend few extra bucks get the original motorola made to avoid further headach.

I have a regular datacable and it's don't charge my phone . You may want to email seller and ask how to work around it maybe seller can tell you how.
The one i have is made by motorola i can charge it if i want to cause it have a slot that fit the wall charger connector in the left side, but i have never try to charge while working with PST or MPT or with any other program

just purchased a new data cable for my v400 and tried using MPT and i did the live update last night so i have the latest version of MPT . . it shows my phone just fine on the screen but cannont find it. . i let wizard run and it finds a better usb driver and starts transfering the drivers files then gives me an error stating that the specific function drivers was not specified????? any suggestions?

On your fone skin click menu icon just like your real fone. setup-->general setup( F6)-->comunication-->modem exchange-->choose from list--> on your left look for Motorola GSM, on your right look for your fone model then click finish the it should work
