I am new in this forum. Hope that someone can help me out.
I bought a Motorola V600 in December 2004. The phone started to act funny in February. I got message on the screen indicating that it could not charge battery.
I called T-mobile and went through diagnostic with Customer Support. Customer Support personnel wanted me to check a dot behind the battery. I reported a red dot. Then the Customer Support personnel told me it indicated "water damage". I never recall drop the phone in water and do not know how did "water damage" happened. But the red dot (instead of white dot) on the phone let my phone falls into the water damage category.
Anyway, because it is under "water damage" category, I could have warranty to get a replacement phone (although it is only a 3 month old phone and should be under some kind of warranty).
I was able to use the phone until few days ago, then finally it quit working and only display the following messages:
"Boot Loader
07.B0
SW Version:
Triplets_G_0B.
o9.3AR_A
Battery OK
OK to program
Cnnect USB Data Cable"
The phone did not respond to any keys. I tried to power it off, but I couldn't. The only way to turn it off is to take the battery out.
Appreciate your help!

It sounds like it has been in contact with water at some point. There was a another member who had this problem as well.
The phone could be unrecoverable. Did you say t-momo will replace it for you? I would look into it.

Thank you for the quick reply.
T-mobile do not want to replace the phone because of the red dot on the phone.
I didn't drop the phone in water and do not know whether there is any true water damage or not.
I did experienced all the symptoms documented under the message "oops I killed my v600 or did I". But now the only symptom is the loader message.

If t-momo won't warrant the warranty, I would open up the phone and look for any water spot and air dry the circuit board(s). There is not much you can do at this point other than to replace some internal parts. That can be expensive.
Hopefully, by drying the phone, it may come back to life.

Thank you very much. It is a very nice tutorial. Sounds too complicated/dangeous to do it.
Is it possible for software problem? I heard news from Taiwan that some bluetooth mobile phones got hit by virus.

I let the water damaged v600 phone sit on the table and did nothing to it.
About a month ago, I found out that it worked!! I guess the water finally dried out? It is interesting. Still function well as of today.

When you buy a phone it has a white dot under the battery that turns red when it comes in contact with water. I actually dropped my phone in the toilet. Everything came back but the camera. After where it's been I don't like using anyway.
