Im sure it might have been asked before, but I cant find anything. Is there way to get new firmware for the 426 that has Learning cabability in the T9? Called up samsung canada and they say not unless your Service provider, Rogers, asks them for it. any ideas? Also, I am using Version 1.7.

I dont think that there is (not 100% sure) But I would upgrade to the X427M firmware.... Has more games, voicerecorderm, MMS capable, bigger memory for ring tones/images, and for some reason I seem to get better reception

Rosewell prob one of the more knowledgable people in the samsung forum offers it on his website, here is a link to the firmware

hello guys
well i am new in this kind of stuff so guys i need your help i have problem with my x426 phone when ever i turn on my phone i get phone locked then i have to unlock it by 3323 is there any way i can solve this problem i was reading on this site that if you have back up of your firmwares then you can overright but i don't know how i can do that. i got my friend phone and try to back up the firmwares with Optiflash but i am getting error. i don't know how i can use this thing so that i can get the back up file and write to my phone.. ohh ya is that x427m firmware can i be written on x426 phone. if so please help me with that and please tell me if all service providers have the same firmware...

Yes X427m firmware can be used on X426, the firware can be downloaded from the link I posted above. The only problem is that it is not unbranded. Has cingular crap on it but you can edit this out with Januka. The x427m rev 1.2 firmware is a good upgrade for the x426 1.7 you should have with rogers. PS can help you with back up unless you tell us what the error you are getting is.
