First, cingular sim + sidekick=no data connection. Only voice services and txt. The cingular rep was not lying. Second, you don't have to tell tmobile anything about the phone other than the imei number. They don't need to know how you got it. Finally, there is no data card. You will get a sim card from tmobile and a tmobile phone number even with the data only sidekick option. Minutes are in the area of $.35. I'm not sure on the exact price so don't quote me there.

You are going to need to call the phones carrier in order to get a sidekick unlocked.

Please somebody help me. i bought a sidekick II and i need to unlock my sim card i tryed to ask t-mobile for a code they send me one but they said they couldnt unlock at the moment and i need to wait more 3 months before ask again for a new code. please help me

You can activate a data line only but you would not be able to use your cingular voice and have tmobile internet.

in a nut shell theres no unlock solution for this mobile yet i can see. but how do i call the carrier of the piece from abroad where they don't even exsist?
theres goto be a way dudes someone give a good link please.

There really is no way to get the sidekick to connect to a computer to hack the unlock code without a dev key. Danger isn't gonna give a dev key out for unlocking purposes. If you really really want to unlock the voice services u are going to have to make a call to the service provider your sidekick is locked to. It may have to be an international call.

okay okay i got a problem .. i bought this sidekick II from germany on ebay (brand new and everything) but it doesn't work here in london. T-mobile (UK) can't unlock it coz it's german and the german t-mobile isn't so helpful either .. any suggestions people?

Do you know even if it is unlocked the data services will not work. The only way to unlock the voice services would be to contact tmobile germany. The operating system will continue to be tied to germany as this is not unlockable. You need a uk sidekick in order to access data features.
