I got i tmobile sidekick II. I live in the UK and i need my mpbile to work on all networks.

Call t-mobile uk. I haven't read anything yet on someone who knows how to unlock a sidekick. Only a carrier can unlock it for now.

Hi all bought a sidekick 2 on ebay and I am sure you can guess what happend, the seller said it was unlocked it arrived after paying heavy duties and taxes for canada customs paying way too much for the phone ( because I thought it was unlocked ) wanted it right away so even paid for extra fast shipping now i am out alot of money I tried the by pass steps geting it to scan for network manually it found my Rogers network but still has the question mark over the sim flashing if anyone here can offer any help I will be so grateful ( I am an ipod tech so if i can return the favor please feel free to ask ) docipod.com

You will not have data at all but you can at least get voice services with it. is the phone at least reconizing the sim and not asking for a password right now? Do not call tmobile customer care, they have stopped unlocking sidekicks or at least claim that.

Hello I am not sure I understand what the answer was my home service provider has teh hiptop data packages and I can add that on if I can get the unit unlocked but hopw can I do that .

No, that will not work. A tmobile hiptop/sidekick even when unlocked will only work on tmobile. The operating system of the hiptop/sidekick is written for a specific carrier and it is not possible to unlock or flash the os to another hiptop/sidekick carrier.

Wow that sucks dude how are all these people buying unlocked sidekicks and using them I dont understand if they will only work on tmobile then what are they all doing to have it function do you think there may be a hack flash something in the near future and can you suggest any other similar units that I can buy unlocked to use with my home carrier my sp does sell the sidekick 2 but its like 500.00 maybe I should just bite the bullet and get one I am just worried that when 3 comes out soon I will be stuck wih it thanks for the help guys like i said before if you need any ipod help I am your man and there are forums on the site that are in need of some action so all welcome to join www.docipod.com

I wouldn't expect a flash anytime soon. There used to be one but it was just for tmobile and could really damage your sidekick.

Ive got a sidekick and i was wondering if it can be unlocked, i put in my cingular sim card and it asks for a special code, where can i get this special code?

Apparently the only place to get the code is from teh actual original carrier of the phone I have teh same problem got the code and not even that works so its for sale on ebay as we speak lks like we have to bite teh bullet and shell out 500.00 for one from our carrier or just get another unit
