I just bought a sidekick 2 off a friend. i have cingular so i called T-Mobile to unlock it and they said that the sidekick 2's are unable to be unlocked. Is this true? Are there other ways to unlock my sidekcik 2?

That is true. Sidekick can no longer be unlocked. Read through these posts and you will find the reasons why.

Not being funny but stop being cheap bastards and just go to your market or something they always unlock phones
i got my sidekick 3 unlocked for £4
Its not exactly breaking the bank
and if theres no code
well you be the idiots and get stuck with a locked sidekick

Sidekicks can be unlocked. Goto my site 'Global Unlock', if you serious find it in google and I can unlock it. I have done a lot and have had great success.
If it works, tell others. If it does not, tell others

sk can only be unlock for OVERSEAS CARRIERS AND FOREIGN COUNTRY.you get the drift.so please stop calling tmobile and trying to get an unlock code because your not going to get one if you are using cingular at&t cricket alltel nextel US sim cards! beside tmobile sidekick dept doesn't have it! ex: one man bought a bnib sk lx and told a cingular dealer to call in and get the unlock code so he can use it under cingular.omfgosh and he call in like 5 times that day and speaked to the supervisor like 3/5 times.i guess whatever he hears goes in one ear and out the other.i had to explain to him over and over like 293475943894572897 times good lord! and you want to get mad at the rep because your dumb self didn't get all the info correctly and got jipped and the cingular dealer told me it was probably impossible to unlock it and when the man came on the line the dealer switch up the story and said that he seen some cingular customers used it on the cingular network before.busted how sad no wonder MOST of the dealers LIE SO DAMN MUCH! well there you have it people i just wanted to get my little 10 cent in there lol!

I bought the sidekick on ebay.Legally with box and everything.
Got a T-mobile contract, but when I insert my sim card and enter the pin it says "special code required".But they onyl code I can find is the prvacy lock & that is off.
Can anyone help with this?

Are you using tmobile USA? If so, is the sidekick you bought from tmobile usa? Which carrier is the sim you have from?

i'm planning on getting the sidekick 2 but i have cingular.
from what i have read so far i can use the sidekick with cingular once it is unlocked but i wont have internet.
so my questions are,
if i get the sidekick and i call tmobile for them to unlock it will i have to have a plan with them for them to want to unlock it?
and is there any way for me to get internet from them and still have my cingular plan?
