from what i have read so far i can use the sidekick with cingular once it is unlocked but i wont have internet.
so my questions are,
if i get the sidekick and i call tmobile for them to unlock it will i have to have a plan with them for them to want to unlock it?
and is there any way for me to get internet from them and still have my cingular plan? |
Tmobile WILL NOT unlock the phone. Even if you are a tmobile customer.

He said he tried it and it didn't work at all. Is he lying? Also, when I go to T-Mobile, they won't question me as to how I got the phone and why I'm not using their phone service right? And lastly, is the data card somewhat like a sim card that is just placed in the phone? |

By law i think they have to unlock the phone once your out of contract, not sure though. i know sprint avoided a class action lawsuit by doing that.

because every other phone is unlocked they font have to. and it isn't a problem to unlock it, the issue is its operating system. all the network settings are coded into a carrier specific operating system. this is why it is not unlockable. it will not work outside its designed network.

The only network it will work on is the Fido Brand of Rogers Wireless in Canada.
