It may be working now, however, I could stop again. I'd would keep a backup phone just to be sure.

Now according to the Cingular rep. I had, I can't use it with Cingular anymore. I wonder if I take back my new one like I don't like it and say I want to re-activate my old one ,if they'll let me.
The camera still doesn't work, but everything else does. Too bad I already re-did my contacts on my new phone. Ain't life a bi***.

Now did you renew the contract to get the replacment? if so i don't see why you cannot use it you did not file insure on it if it's not from Cingular but it's AT&T then just unlock it and used it sell it , or have it at back up

The phone maybe locked though. I think that was what the rep told her.

I'm a him not a her, but that's irrelevent.
Yes, I did renew my contract on my new phone (that's the only way they'd do it).
The rep. did say it was locked, but I can get around that. I guess I'll just keep it as a back-up, as "Old Fool" suggests.

Well i read a WHOLE article on what the "suggested" course is...if the screen was black you should first off remove the battery if wet...then disassemble the phone and dry off as much as possible...then this guy put it in the oven at some temp i don't recall...but something low and long just to evaporate any water...then he left out to cool then reassembled, after all is done turn on the phone and hopefully it works...if not send it to me i need a new phone...But ill find that article for you and post it here. (P.S. DONT GIVE UP HOPE YET!)

Well, I can't seem to find the one with the oven but this ones close... http://www.cellularfx.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3 instead of a oven they went the slow and anguishing rate...hair dryer but as your screen is feeling effects id imagine you need to oven it out... i say try like 120 and watch it closely...find out what your phone can resist heat wise and evaporate all that moisture...also if nothing then you can just buy a LCD and it should work. Good luck!

The phone works now. It seems everything is there but the camera. Maybe that's not dried out completely. I know you advise not to try turning it on befors it's completely dried out, but who waits? If I hadn't been in such a hurry I wouldn't have dropped my phone in the toilet. I'm just going to keep it for emergencies. I love the V551 I replaced it with. Screen is a fraction bigger. I had problems with my V600 I don't seem to be having on the V551.
Thanks for the advise and the link.
