Phone Model: Motorola V3 |
 Fri Apr 01, 2005 4:55 am |
I'm trying to connect my V3 to my PC to send files via USB (as I dont have Bluetooth).
I have installed the Mobile Phone Tools with the CD provided with the phone. Plugged in the mini USB to the phone and connected to the PC via USB.
However when the phone tools opens it just cannot connect. I have tried reinstalling the software and drivers but no luck.
I'm using Windows XP and cannot for the life of me work out what the problem is. I called Motorola who were about as useful as poo.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Go to tutorial section and there is a thread about deleting stock file and sound. You will need P2Kman and driver or PST for this job.

What verson of MPT do you have?
When install don't let window install driver for you , instead choose the " specific location and point it to sample: C:\program\mpt\inf.

OK I have finally sussed this out after hours of trying.....
The driver that comes with the phone is incorrect and will not allow the software to talk to the mobile phone. A problem with the ports apparently.
So all you need to do is get the correct driver from the link below and your software will finally work....

This works good luck.

I have this phone too. However I did not get any software for it... do I have to pay for this? Or can I download the drivers for the v3 razr?

As said previously, drivers alone will not allow you to connect phone to PC, you must have some form of software to handle communications properly. And yes it does require you to pay for it unless you plan to do some searching for it, and please don't ask for it here, but what your looking for should be Mobile Phone Tools (MPT) some other neat tools can be found at duce's site, www.motoaide.com:8081
