For the n-gage, the real player doesnt play the mp3s. There is a different app known as the music player. There is also a dedicated softkey for the music player which located along with the symbian meny softkey and the radio softkey.

* Create, edit, & play M3U playlists
* Organize music tracks and playlists in the Nokia Audio Manager Music Studio
* Transfer AAC & MP3 tracks from the Music Studio to your N-Gage game deck
* Transfer playlists from Music Studio to your Mobile Device
* Use Nokia Audio Manager as your default music player for all supported file types

R u using the original N-gage or the N-gage QD??

If u r using the original n-gage, then yes, it PLAYS mp3s.

Only thing is that u will have to use the "Music Player" which is in-built in the n-gage. The real player is not used to play mp3s.

Real Player update is not required.

The n-gage does not use real player to play mp3s.
