Well usually if you get a phone with AIM it works...I don't think you need to be signed up for it or anything otherwise that would be a weak selling point. But it may be ask your ATT rep if they can configure it if you can't get it figured out. Any suggestions from anyone else before we send this guy into rep entanglement?

Here are my ISP settings:
GPRS APN: wap.cingular
User Name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
password (case sensitive): CINGULAR1
All those are under the "ISP SETTINGS" section.

Well those ISP Settings according to everyone with cingular are correct. If it doesn't work then I'm at a loss. Aim usually works unless its blocked somewhere down the line.

i there... i am not a pro, but when i had this problem a few weeks agao, i found that my GPRS symbol was not on my main screen, i went into my settings, changed it to GPRS, when it got done searching for network again, BAMMM the GPRS symbol was there, and i finally got signed onto AIM...... it would not hurt to try this, but i know there are PLENTY of ppl here who might know what i am talking about... hope this helps...
