I'm discontinuing my service with Nextel and was planning on just giving my phone to a friend. So, will she be able to use the SIM that's in my phone if I cancel my service and she gets her own service? Sorry if this doesn't make too much sense - I really don't know how to word what I want to say
Thanks!
-Ashley

I work for Nextel, and I am guessing your phone is no long under contract correct? Are you giving your friend the phone with the SIM Card?

You work with Nextel?
Why is it so difficult to get in contact with Nextel?
Especially email!!
Also, why in the HELL, does Nextel's SIM Card only hold
1 data instead of like 95% of the rest of world, where "Normal" SIM
Cards hold 255 names & contacts so that one can "backup" their data.
2 thumbs down for Nextel!!
I wanted to buy a backup device for this purpose, only to check
the SIM, and it's only got room to save 1 contact to: SIM.
Normal phones have feature: Save to: Phone / Save to SIM.
So convenient.
Nextel is a problem child and will be on it's way out.

What in the world are you talking about? All contacts are saved to the sim card none are saved to the phone. And a 64k sim can hold 600 contacts so I dont kno what you are talking about

Oh really?
Did you know that the memory has NOTHING to do with how many contacts you can store on a SIM card?
Did you know that a SIM card is divided into 4 sections?
Why in the world......did we stick a nextel SIM card in our mobiles,
and went to check the # of SIM spaces available, and there was
only 1? The cell phone itself has 250.
