I just got my new usb cable, the drivers are installed and all the other programs (pst, p2k, and mpt) are working fine. But when I power up my phone I get a message saying found new hardware, finding hardware installation, then there's an error. What do I do? I know it's not a problem with the usb cable because the computer acknowledged the fact that it's a v505 hooked. Thanks in advance.

The message I'm getting are "The drivers for this device are not installed.Code 28" and "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software."

I have never seen this error myself. Have you used the software in the past? I don't know where to begin to tell you what to do.
If you have fumble with it for awhile and nothing seems to work, I would install every mobile phone software and plug in your phone to puter after a restart. Don't install any software just yet.

Right now I'm doing what someone said in another post, reboot your phone while mpt is connecting and then it'll try and install the phone itself. I did it once already and I had to manually install the phone but nothing has happened.

Ok first of all you don't reboot your phone when its looking for the drivers if thats what you mean....You start the driver search then plug in phone(MPT way) if its windows then you plug phone in and when prompted direct the search to (C:\Program Files\mobilephone tools\) and it will find and install the drivers, if not do the manual way.

Well I got mpt to work but pst is giving me a problem. I'm trying to make it read from the phone so I can enable the java menu, but it says phone not connected, connect and power it again. What should I do in this situation?

Well, when you start the program you don't do so until AFTER the phones loaded. So you have to plug in the phone and wait like a minute or 2 then open the program and do what you wanted. When you plug in the phone it should make the standard windows alert sound saying its in. Then after you hear that wait for a min or 2 and then open up PST and it should load the phone. Also last thing to check is the configuration for PST make sure that its using auto detect otherwise you have to find out the port its on.

Nevermind, I finally got everything to work, I just installed 4 or 5 drivers that were needed from the mpt folder. Thanks for the much needed help.

Here's the deal, the computer completely recognizes the phone is now a modem, I can start mpt now and transfer images, videos, blabbity blah. So I waited 2 minutes for the phone to load, heard the alert, waited 2 minutes after the sound, started pst, it said establishing connection, I clicked new page kjava file, then I clicked on the icon for read data from phone, and after that I got an error message saying "Phone not connected. Please connect phone to computer." I pray that that message won't show up. What should I do now, also the motorola usb driver is installed and I restarted the pc after it was. |
try re boot and not run mpt but run PST first. Some time PMT got hang up on releasing modem after you closed
