ill be taking a trip to Asia in June. so i was wondering if i needed any converter to charge my fone. if u look at the charger it will say input 100-240V. so do i even need one? or i can just get an adapter to plug in into Asia power supply. FIY, US power source is rated at 110/120V while Asia is rater 220/240V.

then i went to surf radioshack. they a bunch of converter. these convert 220/240v input to 110/120V. then it has limited watts output. they have 30,45,50,80,1600 watts.

so if anyone knows, which watts should i get to charge my cell and if possible my camcorder.

old_fool should know my dilemma.

Thank you in advance.

Hmmmm. Whenever I go to Japan, I don't use any power converter for my shaver and camcorder as Japan's plug is quite similar to that of the US.

so duce, need anything while im there? case? cover? oh oh how bout those things that u hang on your cell like most Japanese users do.

Haha, the little ornaments? I see those on most girls cell phones. Really seems pointless to me but hey they like it so leave it at that. But ya why do japanese have to be sooo much better than us? 220v? we run 120 and I've been eletricuted by that, dude why do you need an extra 100v to power your things? God there so power hungry.

Actually I stay with my wife's parent house and we go there once a year. We stay away from tourist city. As if japan's not expensive already.

Duce: so did u get a adpter for your charger? wait did u even bring your cell over there? did u buy a pre-paid SIM?????

yeah, i know bout the ornaments thingy. gf have a winnie the pooh on her nokia and told to take it off coz it kept hitting her camera lense. if u need anything from Asia, just holla.

Well thats what I meant, my point is that the US is like the lowest place anywhere that I know. Everywhere else you go you have to have a converter because the voltage is higher.

Yes, I did get a converter but never really used it. I brought my cell over there only to tell time and to use it once I land back in the US for a ride home.
