As a new owner of an LG VX6100 phone, I was wondering what it takes to download pictures to my PC. What do I need and what do I need to know. I'm not all to swift when it comes to computers and such and I need all the help I can get. Any information that anyone can provide would be of great help! Thanks

It's really pretty simple. I use the cable that comes with the office conectivity kit and a program called BitPim. You can find the program at www.BitPim.org
With some time I was able to remove the Verizon Wireless banner and add a number of .mp3 ringtones.
Photos that you have taken with the phone show up under the wallpaper section in BitPim. Go Check it out. But be warned, there is very little support for BitPim, you're kinda on your own. So search the forums for answers and directions before you go to deep into the phone. And if you mess with the file system at all, make sure you save a back up before you change anything. It saved my butt a time or two.

Hey Duckie:
I have a vx6100 and I bought a data cable. I have bitpim but I can't seem to get my phone to work with it. What do I need to change in the phone so that it will respond?

Make sure you have the Drivers installed. Then in Bitpim, go into edit, settings. make sure you have the right model selected, and then click the browse button next to com port. Select the one that you think is your phone. Hope this helps,

Drivers, drivers. Any clue where one finds the drivers? The phone talks to the computer, connection attempts show in the logs. What is wrong?

Try the official verizon drivers on my website. First Download Daemon Tools at http://www2.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/announcements.php once you have that installed go to http://www.vx7000world.com click on software and download the file labeled official verizon drivers for LG phones. Then right click The daemon tools icon in the taskbar (lightning bolt). Virtual CD-ROM, then go to device 0 mount image, and click on the file you downloaded from my site. The verizon menu should pop up, and then click install drivers. Now try bitpim. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.
Unfortunately, doesn't seem to work. Apparently, Verizon doesn't want mac users to take pics off the phone without spenting 25 cents for each. Nor do they seem to want users to keep numbers in the address book up to date and backed up to a computer. They must have a bit turned off somewhere which makes the phone invisible to the BitPim software. Dirty!
Have tried using the BitPim software natively(mac) and in emulation(WinXP) using BitPim and the original Verizon discs (with the original cable), but each time I try to detect the phone, no phone is recognized. I am not able to try the discs on a non-emulated pc. No access to a pc.
However, BitPim does mention a mac driver(in BitPim Mac docs) which should make access possible. But nada. Does not seem to be anywhere, not already installed on my hd with OSX 10.4.3, nor listed anywhere on the web, except for the mention on the BitPim docs.
I do notice from the list of phones in the LG listing, that some phones have a 'Verizon' version. None is listed as such for the VX6100.
Bummer! Guess I have struck out.
BlueTooth should make life more friendly with an unfriendly provider...
