Well... either you buy it or you get the "old" version for your phone here

No, because I have installed the version from Nokia. And there ain't any backup-sis-files.
You should check if there is still a quickoffice-folder in the memory and if necessary delete it manually.

hmmm...do i really have to delete it? base on my observation all sis files installed in my cp has (a sort of) back-up sis files. but when i tried to open it, it says "file corrupted!"
One more thing, after recovering from (external mmc) corruption, the GALLERY menu isn't working anymore. Can this be cured?

That are not backup-files, that are uninstall-informations which the program manager needs. If you delete one of these sis-files, the relevant program won't be shown in the manager and can't be uninstalled anymore.
I don't really get, what you're trying to say about the Gallery... can't you open it anymore?

On computers they are normally part of a Winrar archive, but on the phone it's mostley part of an app.
Quickoffice has a lot of them...
Quite strange @ gallery... seems like you've screwed the phone
You should do a hard reset... after this the glitch with the gallery and installation of Quickoffice should work.
But don't forget to make a backup of your contacts...

so the *.r files are normal? darn! i have deleted loads of them. thought they were virus created files, coz my pc detected them as rar files, while i don't have winrar installed in my phone. oh gosh!
Fortunately, only the gallery menu seem to have ceased from functioning.
How do i reset my celphone?

Deep Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files (contacts as well) stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten. The MMC remains untouched.
It's like re-installing the OS.
