I currently have a ATT phone and i'm fully aware cingular and ATT merged. I found a samsung phone by cingular and tried to put my sim card into it and it did not work. Thats understandable, but...1st i locked the phone and now need a PUK number...how can i get that? 2nd Can i go into a cingular store, buy a new sim card for my cell phone (so it would be a new cingular sim card rather than ATT) and place it into the phone? I have this phone and want to use it but my main concern is getting a PUK number for it. I was also thinking it may need to be unlocked. Any help or suggestions? Thnx in advance.

You'll have to call customer service to get a PUK code, its the only way to get one.
As far as the sim question goes, you should be able to get a new sim, although be prepared to pay for it.

Did you "found the phone" on the street or you bought the phone? If you found the phone on the street, chances are it has been reported lost and the imei # has been added to the "blacklist".

Yea, i found the phone in a parking lot. I believe it was cut off already. So if the IMEI has been reported, the phone is useless even if i unlock it?
