Yesterday I got a update on my Nokia 6610. The firmware was before the update v 4.04.
I have had alot og problems with the phone. Screen flicking, the sound was not clear.
But when I got it back... WOW!  Everything was much better!
The firmware is now v 4.74.
All I can say to the Nokia 6610 users is: Get the update if you dont have it!

in my caller group.. i can only use pre installed tones..
as well as my personalized message alert tone..
i can't use downloaded polytones...
does this new firmware v 4.74 dont have this?...

I'm still on 4.14 and that version could use ringtones from the galery.

I'm using V4.74 and thru the caller group function, you are able to assign ringtones from the Gallery. Only problem I'm facing with this version is that the backlight comes on for no reason (eg. when the screensaver clock is displayed/phone is idle)

mine is running 4.74 and I have noticed that occasionally it decides to put the backlight on when in standby.

i have thew same backlight problem too.
one question: how do i figure out what my firmware is?
is there a site that is dedicated to the 6610 or just nokia phones in general that has games, and tells you how to do "secret" stuff like update firmware
