You guys have to be kidding me? You are billed for receiving texts??
Surely not? I pay £10 (GBP) each month on my second phone, for that I get 300 free texts, free WAP, and can still spend the 10 quid on calls. I won't tell you what I get on a contract. It seems your cellular providers need to look at some fair play options.

They are unfortunately, they dont look at other countries, just what the competition has to offer.

It looks like it comes dowm to number portability. Myself, I stay with the Crown Provider (SaskTel) simply to avoid changing my dialable. Elsewhere and overseas, LNP has a foot-hold that forces competition. where i live? - every utility is gov't owned. I dig Socialism, but it's gotten out of hand in this province!

xXxSamsungxXx, I'd say that providers in Canada don't even look at what the competition has to offer. I've just switched provider last spring and trust me, all they usually are good at is lying in your face in hope you are completely ignorant about Cellphone technologies and services. Imagine their shock when they discover you know as much if not more than them!
One thing I REALLY hope for is that we'll soon get more decent plans for Text Messaging and mobile internet as the current plans are plain ridiculous. If any Canadian provider representative reads those forums, I'd suggest you wake up very soon before other providers like Virgin starts putting a foot in Canada. I'm sure any new providers with similar plans to those that can be found in Europe or US would be more than welcome.

The thing that I hate the most about Rogers is that you have to pay for itemized billing AND you cannot check your minutes during a bill cycle, you have to wait until the bill cycle is over and you owe them 50$ in minute overage before you find out how many minutes you used.

More then likely you can do it with Bitpim File manager, however im not an LG guru.
Ps. question will more likely be better answered in the manufacturers forum, not the tech expert (CSR talk) forum and especially under the thread: Cingular Billing Secrets! (A must-read for customers)

I myself have worked for cingular, and agree and understand the feeling of wanting a customer to read the bill however they dont, or do and dont understand what we are paid for is to be there and be able to understand and explain
yes i also agree when it comes to the stores to steer clear of them, it does seem convenient to be able to walk into a store and leave same day with a phone, but in most cases you are going to end up with a phone that dont work, a line of garbage about the plan they just slammed you with, and a bunch of lies its unreal, i would rather have a call from someone who has never read his bill just wants to know why its five cents higher then normal than i would from a retail agent working for my same company because of the lies and hores crap they were spreading...
