I follow the Lexus manual and one of the first things it says is to "Begin Bluetooth discover/search from phone ---Passkey xxxx---Enter bluetooth Passkey into the phone. "
At this time I have my phone ready. I am past the Bluetooth linke after connections and entered set-up and click on "find me." The screen changes to "discoverable - 60 seconds" and then nothing happens. Where and when do I press this passkey? Does this thing really work?
BTW, all of the recommended phones from the Lexus dealer had been discontinued when I checked with Cingular today.
I feel like such a dimwit today! Can anyone help?

Thanks for the help. I found a direction sheet on a lexus web site that I had to hunt for. I was haphazardly lucky to finally get the car to recognize the phone using the directions from this sheet. Now, I am trying to figure out how to transfer phone numbers. I know that I have to do them one at a time, but I am still lost on the steps I need to take to transfer each number.
Ditzy here---yes! Frustrating---yep!
I thought I knew how to read, but the instructions seem to be lacking all the steps in between "turn on the phone and start your car engine."
Anyone have this probem as yet? Anyone have a solution?

Copying a Phonebook Entry, Datebook Event, or Bookmark
Highlight the item on your phone that you want to copy to the other device.
Press Menu.
Select Send.
Select Bluetooth.
Select a recognized device name listed in the Object Exchange menu, or [Look For Devices] to search for the device to which you want to copy the item.

Easy enough, and it just takes a min or so for it to initialize, and remember that you have to except the exchange from the device that your sending it to. But really a unique feature and its payed of bigtime for me.
