I had the same problem and that worked. |
My wife is having this problem.
Where can I get these files and how do I upgrade the firmware on the phone?
Or any other advice

I hope you read this. Could you tell me in detail what did you edit in the seem files 004a_0001 and 0032_0001. I got a Hex code from http://xlr8.us/hofo/map.txt but only works for (V300, V400, V500, V600, etc)
Anyone?

Hi there.. i had the same problem with a v220 i bought on ebay.. it was an At&T phone.. i unlocked..and found out the camera didnt work..
to make it short..
what I did it is not that complicated.. you can try it out.. but at your own risk..
First, I took the full housing off.. so i could get to the flex cable (yellow flat cable) and cleaned it out .. it was all dirty.. and it wasnt allowing have a good connection between the camera and the main board (green board behind keypad)..
Second, i unplugged the flex cable from the camera and blow it in case there was dust in it..
Finally, i connected everything back together.. and gave it a try..
At first.. it seemed it was the same.. but it gave me a zoom icon with the black screen.. i tried a couple more times.. and there it was.. the camera started to work.. sometimes.. when it doesnt make the right connection.. it wont give you the signal from the camera.. you have let get it use to it for awhile.. next day.. it was still on testing.. but the camera didnt went off since then.. it s being almost 3 days.. and i keep taking pictures without a problem..
ps. you might wanna google for a full housing installation to take apart your phone..
if this doesnt work.. i would suggest you :
first, to get a new flex cable..
Second.. if it still doesnt work, the camera may be broken..
or third.. get a new cellphone..
I would post some pictures but it didnt let me upload them.. so.. sorry..
I wrote the steps for this solution in a blog site here..

Hope this would help.. and for the record.. i tried first with 5 different flashes and nothing worked till i did this.
Enjoy it..
