Hi, I was wondering if someone can help me with my phone. I just got my SIGMATEL IrDA Wireless Connection kid, and I installed it on my PC. I also got the EasyGPRS version 2.1.5. and I did everything it said to do. For some reason, my computer does find my phone through the Infrared, but when I open the EasyGPRS, it stays offline, does anybody know how to amke it work? It won't just connect, and hence I can't download anything. I phone's Infrared is activated and I see the signal on phone and the computer, that they are connecting, and getting the signals, what the hell is wrong then, can anybody tell me? Please? I will really appreciate it.

I just bought the IrDa today.. What you have to do is open easy gprs and click file/setup. Change the com port setting to IrDa the reload easy gprs and you should be connected no problem

I had this trouble with my S300M, and I discovered if I slowed the IrDa from 115k to 57k it started working.
I've ordered a MobileAction cable now as IrDa is too slow

1. Change the driver for your IrDA device.
If Sigmatel IrDA driver was what your Windows itself installed, this could cause the problem. Always use the driver that came with IrDA package.
2. Change settings in EasyGPRS.
Changing Speed (Always lower than or equal to 115kbps), port setting (not COM port.. must be set to IrDA)
3. Try another USB port.
It often causes the problem.
4. Always turn on EasyGPRS first, then let your phone in the range of the IrDA signal, and activate Infrared on your phone.
This may sound wierd.. but when you activate infrared first and then put into the range, there's chance, it may not work.
5. Check your firmware
Press *#9999# and see what is your firmware.
For certain versions, infrared cannot be used. I don't think it is your case; however, one of my friend had this problem.

Hi to all, I have for some time been following the posts on this site with great interest since purchasing a v200 phone. Since purchasing this phone i have repeatedly tried to connect to the internet through infrared not using my main pc but via a hand held pc this being the ipaq 5450, for some reason no matter what i try it is impossible to connect. My first thought was that maybe the infrared on the phone i have is faulty but have no way to check this, i have used other phones to connect to the net with the ipaq and all the others worked fine.
As i am unsure about the firmware of this phone could someone please help out with this problem, when the *#9999# is entered into the phone i get
F : V20XXWA2
V20ABWD2
I am starting to think that it may be the firmware that is the problem but I am unsure what version this is.
On a final note other phones that have infrared cannot send me any information ie contacts, pics etc.
I would appreciate anyones help with this matter as drop kicking this phone out of the front door is beginning to look very apealing to me.

It stands "offline" in EasyGPRS all the time, how can i connect?
Must I turn on the IRDA when I use cable?
