Actually Elmo, that is not entirely accurate, but before I start, I do want to say thanks for your time in helping to answer my questions where you did.

Show you the lies, I will.

1. I ordered the Nokia 6230i and was told that it was available and it was read back to me as the Nokia 6230I from Will Santiago (just found out his last name today).

2. I had features added + contract length extended. Not to mention the wrong phone shipped. All read back to me as I had ordered, yet they did not match on my account.

2.5 The phone was sent activated, I was told that I would be activating it.

3. Upon cancelling my account, I was told my refund would be done immediately upon the scanning of the phone at the wharehouse. (Talked to the manager)

4. Upon calling after a weeks time (the phone had been received - return receipt from the post office works wonder) I was then told it would be 14 days from the cancelling of my account.

5. After that time expired, I called in and was told that it would be 1 to 2 billing cycles (yes I said months, a billing cycle is one month isn't it).

6. I called in today, sales line, asked how long a refund takes and was told 3 days.

7. I called in again today, account cancel line, asked how long a refund takes and was told 7 days.

8. I called in today, not sure which line, asked about my refund and was told that it would take 10 business days from the date of being received AND after that period of time 1 to 2 billing cycles. (Talked to the manager)

9. I called in today, not sure which line, asked about my refund and was told that I would receive my refund with those 10 business days, BUT that it would not show up on my account for "a month or two". (Talked to the manager)

10. My final call today, billing department, was told that it would take approx 20 business days from the time of reciept. This seems to match what you say. (Talked to the manager)

11. Return policy, as stated on Cingular.com, is 10 business days for check and cash. Surely credit cards would be faster?

The last person I spoke today read the notes on my account, and was pissed. Not with me, but with the level of service I received. Not only did she confirm for me that the previous information given to me by "managers" was wrong, she confirmed that I had been flat out lied to about the bank "not showing my refund" immediately in my most recent call.

This earlier call, of which I spent nearly 40 minutes on hold and ultimately ended with the "manager" hanging up on me because I told her I was going to call my bank on 3-way calling so they could hear what she was trying to tell me. Apparently she did not wish to be publically exposed for lying. I had spoken to my bank prior to this and knew that she was not being honest.

My entire Cingular expeirence has been riddled with conflicting and contrary answers to nearly every question I have asked.

For these reasons, and more, I say:

Given the level of service I have received as a new and first time customer, I will never and would never suggest Cingular to anyone but an enemy.
