I think we can top this for 2005
What do you think? I believe we can turn around our ratings for the Q1 stats and on for the rest of the year.

I think we need to come out with some new rate plans. Thats 19.99 for plans 59.99 and lower just plain sucks.
We also need unlimited text messaging for like, 24 bucks. While its higher than the competitions, Ive had MANY customers willing to pay any price for it.

It matches the crappy unlimited internet plan. Cingular needs m2m text for like, 5 bucks, and unlimited for 15 bucks. We all know cingular wont try to price match.

What cingular needs to do is price match for its text and internet services as well as allow customers to select which provider it want to use instead of slapping them w/Yahoo. By chosing Yahoo, they are limiting customers and alienating those w/MSN. Allow all providers and provider content to be downloaded (MSN,YAHOO, AOL).

I thought I saw a post on a hunk of software that allows for multi carrier (MSN Yahoo and AOL) messsinger capability for a wap device... methinks I saw that in the cingular talk forum
found it (pasted below from Wrangler)

Go to my-symbian.com in order to get applications for this phone. Once there, download Agile Messenger. This program gives you access to yahoo instant messenger, AIM, microsoft IM and ICQ. As far as the mobil web goes, I would contact cingular on how to get rid od Mmode. But the beauty of this phone is that I rarely use wap sites. On the symbian website you can also download a browser, I would recomend Opera, although there are prolly cheaper or even free browsers to download. These browsers allow you to surf the entire web from your phone. No wap sites necessary. The browser automatically fits normal websites in the screen of your cell phone, so you can interact with them normally as if you were on your computer. As far as connecting to your companies services, thats something im not familiar with. However I'm sure theres a program out for that too. Take a look at what they have to offer, and remember that its a great phone as long as you supplement it with better software. Good luck! |

I think you are too hopeful.
Given the level of service I have received as a new and first time customer, I will never and would never suggest Cingular to anyone but an enemy.
While my refund is still pending, I can not think of one thing that Cingular has gotten right on my account other then my address and credit card number.
The amount of lies from "qualified" representatives has done nothing but tarnish the image I will have and promote about Cingular.

I have read all your posts...and even answered a few... you were not lied to....
when the original order was placed you stated what you ordered... did the representative read it back? if so was it what you stated...
where was the point of sale... a dealer or Cingular sales? (obviously it was over the phone)
if it was your intent to take the phone in the trial period (customers option) and evaluate and return there is a processing period... that period is longer (from the time of return to the time of refund) if the order is placed over the phone... if you had placed that order in a store the store does the return...because they have the device in hand..if you had the phone shipped to you..the return path is the same... you get an RMA label and it goes back... the processing can take 1-2 billing cycles...not 1-2 months you are incorrectly interpeting things...
when you start a service you are assigned a billing cycle...this billing cycle is independant of the date of order...
example
you order a phone on 1 feb...(a monday lets say)
your billing cycle is 8-9 (8th of the month to the 9th of the next)
you recieve the phone 2 days later on the 3rd...you decide that for whatever reason you dont want to keep the service...you cancel the account to stop billing
you call and cancel and are told you will recive a return label...you are told to return all articles that came in the original box and affix said label to box and send it off....(the date is still the 3rd and it wednesday)
on the 4th or 5th (usually 1-2 bus days) you recieve the label... following the instructions tou promptly return the box on the 5th (now friday)
the package meanders thru the USPS holding cells for several days(usually about 5) and arrives back at the return center on or about the 10th... nine days have elapsed since you first told someone that you want to return it... and your account just started another billing cycle (nothing is going to bill because you cancelled) it still has to be processed...pending on service load... 3-5 days in the return center for verification of equipment and inspection for damage (you dont trust us... and we dont trust you)...we are now at 14 days...and you are in you second billing cycle (hence the statement 1-2 billing cycles) the return will in the next 3-5 days on average be credit back to your ACCOUNT... usuall turn-around time 20 days..if all goes well... if not longer
not everything is centered on a cast in stone time table... you made some assumptions quite incorrectly... normally no one will go into this level of detail for a return
but to finally put to rest your diatribes and whining I have...
btw the return process at other cell providers is VERY similar...
