Everytime I hit the browser (Medianet/My account) buttons on my V551, even by accident, it says I'm transfering 2000+bytes. Do I have to pay for this? It seems like this could add up.
Is there any way to disable these buttons?
Thanks

Yeah, the best fix is of course a hex so you can change the button to do what you want it too. Those browser buttons bug me a lot to so I know thats going to be hexed the moment I get mine.

I'm not that swift, so could someone fill me in on how to do a hex. I'll take how to lock the buttons ,too. Anything will help. Maybe a link that explains in detail how to execute these options.
Thanks guys.

Ok to lock the browser this is what you should do. Goto: Menu>Settings>Security>Lock Application>Web Browser:Locked, All you need is to remember your lock code for incase you do want to enter the browser.

I went in and locked the browser buttons I wanted. It says that they're locked, but they still work when I press them. What's up
Thanks again for your time.

I finally did what I should have done a long time ago. I did a Google on hex edit V551, http://xlr8.us/hofo/
I don't know if my patience is enough to attempt a hex edit. I do have MPT and P2Kman is free, but it looks COMPLICATED.I called Moto. customer support and they said Cingular won't let us lock our browser buttons. Even when it says they are locked. They still work. He said Cingular programs the phones that way so we'll do exactly what I've been talking about. Go Cingular.
