Ok people. just in case no one else has answered this question, the way you get the web sessions on the t-mobile razr is to turn off your auto up date. this cause you to be able to change your web settings.

I recently bought a Samsung D807, and a week later I found both the Cingular store, and Nebraska Furniture Mart (where I actually bought the phone) both discontinued it, which had me a little worried, but so far I absolutely love it.

Anyway, WAP works with the default settings, but I've read countless tutorials that tell me I should be able to put in a proxy address and thusly get free WAP.

However, most of those tutorials are a year or two old. I can still ping google and yahoo's supposed free wap gateways, and such, but I can't get them, or any number of other free WAP proxies to work.

I wasn't sure if it was due to Samsung, Cingular, or just everyone dropping their free WAP services.

Are there still WAP gateways that people can use, and if so, how would one set it up on a Samsung/Cingular phone?

I can easily get to the Connections Setting Menu and put in an IP Address, DNS address, home url, etc. But I can't seem to get it to work correctly.

Thanks for your time and assistance!

If anybody could help me out, it would be much appreciated. Ok so a buddy of mine gave me his old motorola razr v3. He had T-mobile as a server provider. I popped my Cingular sim card from my nokia into the razr and everything works fine except that i can't receive nor send mms messages and also cannot go on the internet. I've tried creating a web sessions and this is how it looks.

Name: Cingular
Homepage: h t t p :// device.home (no spaces)
Service Type 1: WAP
Gateway IP 1: 66.209.11.61
Port 1: 9201
Domain 1: <blank>
Service Type 2: WAP
Gateway IP 2: <blank>
Port 2: 9201
Domain 2: <blank>
DNS 1: <blank>
DNS 2: <blank>
Timeout: 15 minutes
CSD No.1: <blank>
User Name 1: <blank>
Password 1: <blank>
Speed (Bps): 9600
Line Type 1: Modem
CSD No. 2: <blank>
User Name 2: <blank>
Password 2: <blank>
Speed (Bps) 2: 9600
Line Type 2: ISDN
GPRS APN: wap.cingular
User Name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

I set this to default and when i click the browser button, it says:
< 500: Internal server Error >

If anyone has any sollutions please reply. Thanks a lot!

everything looks fine on your end, Call Customer Care and have them send the settings Over the Air (OTA) that should fix it.
