I have an old unlocked Nokia 3595 from T-Mobile. I now have Cingular service and broke my LG phone. My Cingular SIM card works in my 3595 for voice calls, but won't let me surf - keeps trying to do the T-Zones!
I can't get to the settings menu to change the GPRS settings. Is there any other way to get around the programming that T-Mobile put in so that I can set my WAP browser settings?
I'm trying to avoid paying for a new phone -argh!
Thanks.

When I try an error come up and says INTRENAL IO EXCEPTION
Does anyone know what that means? How can I fix it?

I just bought an unlocked Samsung d500 from e-bay, but am having troubles configuring the WAP settings. I have tried the following:
GPRS
Profile Name: Express
Home URL: http://device.home
Bearer: GPRS Only
Proxies: Enabled
Then go to GPRS Settings, dont worry about GSM settings they do not apply to us.
IP - 66.209.11.32
Port: 8080
APN: wap.cingular
User Name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
(All upper case)
Password: CINGULAR1
(All upper case)
AND this....
New info for D500 wap. Its the homepage blocking from connecting. They must have coded for device.home to only work with their model phones. use all the same settings and instead of enabling proxy disable it and in GPRS put the IP 066.209.011.061 or 066.209.011.032 in DNS 1 and leave the other blank and then put the APN: wap.cingular (case sensitive) and User name :WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM (case sensative) Password CINGULAR1 (case sensative) so it looks like this.
Name: MEdia NEt
Home URL: yahoo.com (or whatever page you like that works)
Bearer: GPRS only
Proxy: Disable
GPRS Settings:
DNS1: 066.209.011.061 or 066.209.011.032
DNS2: 0.0.0.0
APN: wap.cingular
Login ID: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
The last thing is I have not found a hompage that will let you get Cingulars home where the all the cingular ringtones and stuff are but you can dowlaod them anyway so ill keep trying. But ringtones dont work to download from there anyway based on the model and the way they configure it. I hope this helps it did with me.
____________
Any other ideas? I'm beginning to get frustrated. Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks for the info but i still cannot mms. i dont know if this matters but my phone was made in singapore for singapore carriers. its unlocked but the singtel and other carrier settings are still stored in the phone. i could not create a cingular web session that worked. i reconfigured the IDEAS (i am assuming its a carrier) settings and input the cingular settings and was able to access MediaNet as IDEAS was the first web session on the list. by the way, on my phone, web sessions is the the Web Access menu (which in cingular phones is the MediaNet icon. MediaNet is not an icon nor is web sessions located in the settings menu in mine.

i get "authentication error" when i try to download an email application from cingular. does that have anything to do with my not being able to mms? i reconfigured the settings on my ROKR world phone. i can browse the internet through a different carrier name using cingular settings but i still cannot find a way to mms. in case i forgot to mention, i have a motorola e1 manufactured in Singapore for Singapore carriers such as SingTel, IDEAS. If these are not actual carriers, please forgive my ignorance.
