Windows XP comes with a program called 'Sendfile'. Use this to send whatever you like to your phone. It should be either preinstalled or will be on the XP CD to install.
It doesn't matter what cable/adaptor you use with it.
Otherwise go to Christersson where you can download 'Sendfile2'.

I assume you are going to the sony ericsson uk website?
As far as I'm aware the mobile phone monitor is the same accross the range. It just allows your PC to detect an externally connected phone and treats it as a modem. So the one you have found will be OK.
Hope this helps.

Hey, don't give up!
The Mobile Phone Monitor from the SE website does work.
When you install it, it sets your phone up to be detected when sending things from any program, including your Handset Manager.
"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again", as they say.
