Dear all,

I've just started a new job and need to syncronise my phone with the contact information I've inherited. There are hundreds of contacts within Outlook that I need to sync and I try to use the Nokia PC Suite but I get this error:

SyncML Server information.

The SyncML Server was unable to send a complete SyncML Package to the SyncML Client.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------
Possible Solution

Check the connection between the SyncML Client and the SyncML Server, then restart Synchronisation.

What is weird is that some of the contact information has transferred from the PC to my phone, yet not nearly all of it.

My phone is in the appropriate unlocked mode.

I am clueless as to what to do.

Any suggestions?

Cheers.

Matt.

You wrote "There are hundreds of contacts within Outlook"...

Could it be you've got too much contacts for the phone?!

the phonepook capacity on the phone is 1000 so I dont think that is the issue

... try rebooting the phone and PC...just in case....

if that dont work...admit defeat ... call Nokia (888) 665-4228

Mattallicaog - I think I might have cracked it.

First, in the Nokia PC Sync window click on Properties, then on the Contacts tab select on Name and All Numbers, then OK

Then click on Synchronise.

If it worked like mine, the Sync went through without a hitch for all contacts (about 400)

Then, I went went back to Properties then Contacts again and this time selected All Details, then OK.

Then I Synchronised a second time.

It then updated all my contacts with their email addresses etc

It seems that it can't cope with doing a full sync of all details in one go when the phone is empty. But if you do All Numbers, and then All Details, it can cope with it.

Any more technical explanations welcome. Hope this helps.

If you have a syncML server you can use our Syncje for Outlook client. You can download it from http://www.nexthaus.com. We also offer a Personal Server for Outlook - which will soon be available in a new release.

You can get a trial server from Desknow - http://www.desknow.com and host it yourself.

You can also use a public server at http://www.mobical.com. It is free based on where you are syncing from. They also offer premium packages.

Hope that helps.
