i've been trying different flash and flex files with my V3 to see which one works best. i chose the SE7495AXXH1082 flex which has no themes, pictures or sounds with it so i would have more space and then put on just the things i wanted. i installed an xp theme which had a custom starup graphic, but i forgot to put the startup gif onto the phone so on startup the phone just pauses as it cant find the graphic(tongue twister ) the phone wont pass this point and the screen and keypad just flashes on and off intermitently. The phone doesnt have chance to initialize so my computer cant recognize it for me to fix the problem. is that the end of my phone or can it be salvaged?

I don't know the V3 very well and I don't think you can short pin it with a serial cable, but check if it can charge, so plug into wall and see if the screen does the little flash then say battery charging. Then you should be able to still plug in the phone while its off, mine can at least.

I have the exact same problem right now. If I could just get it to stay connected I could fix my other problems. The only thing that stays connected with this phone is bootloader. And it just says bootloader usb init and only lets me flash certain files none of which have helped.

Be warned: Following this, will reset your phone. You will lose all files, pictures, audio, video, games, programs, everything. You will basically have a brand new out of the box phone. You may lose all your cool stuff, but at least you should have a near factory reset working phone again. All depends on what software you are trying to load.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
This is pretty much what you can do no matter what happened to the phone as far as software is concerned. You should always be able to follow the text below to fix any major phone problems. Flash boot, good charged battery, flex it. Selection of flex is important, but pretty easy. So long as you can keep the phone powered by the battery long enough to flex, it should completely reset the phone depending on the flex file. All else fails use a complete monter pak that matches your carrier/bootloader version. Revision (Rxxx), bootloader (8.26,.), and carrier should match the flex.
Blew up flexing? Fail a flex?
My trials point me to low/dead battery. You try to flash/flex your V3 and it fails. Then for a few tries it starts up and says code corrupted. So you try again. It gets to the point that the phone keypad just flashes when you try to turn it on, but nothing happens on the screen. [phone doesn't boot at all]
You can do what Fool said, and press *+#+[power] to boot in flash mode. If there's still a TINY amount of juice in the batt, it should go ahead and flash boot. If you immediately plug the USB in, it will stay on at the flash boot. At that point the USB is sustaining the power, but it's not charging or discharging the battery. Trying to flex again would be pointless. The battery wouldn't last. If you try to plug a wall charger in at that point the phone wouldn't recognize it. You have to find a different way to charge the battery. If the other half also has a V3, then you can just charge that one, and do a switch on the batts.
Once you can find another phone to charge your battery, a new flex should be no problem. It's a pain to get the battery charged if you don't have another phone already. This is pretty much correcting a mistake, but it shouldn't be the end of the world. Always make sure you have a full batt. before you flex.
