I also need a phone number for past employment verification for Cingular Wireless. The only numbers that I have been able to find are for the call centers or numbers that are disconnected.

Does anyone know whom I should contact concerning a suggestion?
I want to request that they expand there coverage in a particular area where according to their maps, (and T-Mobile's close up locator) shows that there is spotty/no coverage.
I know it is very unlikely/impossible to think that they :gasp: might want to actually act on this type of sugestion. Maybe they do, I don't know, but I thought I'd try anyway.
The reason I ask, is because if Cingular or T-Mobile had coverage in this particular area, I'd actually consider migrating to GSM from my TDMA before the sunset in 2008.

I noticed a phone number for Cingular headquarters in a prior post. Is it still valid? I have just called Cingular for the second time, telling them I cannot get a good signal where my house is located. When I asked for a ticket number, I realized that the customer service rep. was not even going to open a ticket when I called. When I insisted on a ticket number, she then put me on hold and came back with a ticket number. The first time when I called, Cingular said the problem would be resolved in 24 hours (that did not happen). The second time I called tonight, they said 7 days.
I hate to vent but seeing their commercials on TV where they say that have the fewest dropped costs is in error. My friends and me have had so many dropped calls and low signal strength that I wish I would have never signed up with them.
Thank you in advance for any input or advice.

a ticket will not generally be created for someone who simplay doesn't have good reception.
are you on GSM? if you're able to, put your sim card in another phone and see if the problem follows your sim or not. you will beable to see if it is a device issue.
what exactly is the problem?

The problem is low signal strength and it only occurs near my house. From what I have been told, it is because of the towers. Even if I stand outside, the problem still occurs. They just need to add more towers. Even my friend has the same problem. Trying to have a conversation sometimes means we might up to 8 dropped calls during the rush hour. I've talked with friends on other networks and none of them have this issue. I'm stuck in a two year contract but if this is the service they provide, I want out.
Any suggestions?

if it's a matter of putting up towers, no ticket is going to be filed on that, we can submit a form that basically gives feedback that a certain area does not have sufficient reception. if we get enough in one area, it may be acted upon.
do you have a zip code/address to check issues in your area?
I'm off for 5 days.

"just adding more towers" isnt as easy as it seems... there are a lot of tree huggers out there who start forming human chains and stage sit-ins if another tower is raised...there are also zoning laws etc...

that zipcode is showing that particular area is going thru network integration at this time... what is happening is cingular is combining the 2 former networks into one... this nprmally lasts a week or two...try a manual network search and select the second "cingular" in the list... if you dont know how... post your model of phone and I'll give the instructions for it
