Has anyone tried the GSM_V551_Cingular-041405 flash for thier 551? I found it on another forum, supposedly it's from Motorola.
I have heard(read) a lot of pros and cons to flashing a phone. I read that this particular flash will lock your phone to Cingular which is fine as mine is not unlocked. Speaking of which, what is the advantage of an unlocked phone...being able to use it on another carrier?
Is there another flash I should use opposed to this one? Not long ago, I read that there wasn't a flash that worked for the 551.
I also read somewhere that new firmware can increase the overall speed of your phone, and possibly the quality of the camera. Can anyone confirm this?
Should I use PST or P2KMan to perform the flash. I'm not really interested in seem editing, as that scares me a bit. I would like to be able to remove the cingular branding from the inside & outside screens though...sigh
Sorry for my ignorance in this matter. Seems like the more I read, the more confused I become.
Any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated!

Wanted to add a question...
Do I flash then flex or vice-versa, do I have to one to do the other? Can anyone recommend a flex to go with the flash I have?

Im pretty sure you can flash or flex first. And the V3 flex : SE8605AXXU504D is very good, but im not sure if you can use it on a v551.

I have a V551 that I had asked to be Flash/Flex to a V500. It works but I need to get back the Video mode. Reason why I had it "stepped down" was the battery life and had keyboard problems. Keyboard was in fact changed to a V500.
Will your Flash/Flex files restore it back? Will the V500 keyboard work on a Flash/Flex for a V551? The unit is unlocked and was an original Cingular unit. Please help.

i flashed my v551 with a v600 firmware and now phone is not power up what can i do to reset this problem

See if you can but it in flash mode and use the monster flash for V551
press and hold *#then press power key while still holding the other 2

The V551 is not a triplets phone and the V600 plus the V600 doesnt have video capture, Try V551 Monster flash. I think that there is one at Duc website www.motoaide.com:8081
