My samsung recently stopped working so I took my friends old 6800 from him. It was originally a cingular so I unlocked it so it would work with T-Mobile.
I am unable to send text messages (I can receive them) and I cant get on the internet with the phone.
The text message problem is strange because the phone says "message sent" but the message is never received by my friends.
Can anyone help me fix my problems?
Thanks

I am an idiot and ignored the sticky.
I got the WAP working. But my text message problem persists. I did the MMS setup and now i can send MMS's but my text messages still dont get through.
Any ideas?

Make sure that you have the correct sms service center number its +12063130004 you prob have the correct one because your getting message sent but make sure, also test by sending to yourself just incase your friend is the one having the issue receiving. Make sure you use area code when sending (this helps).

I checked the sms service center number and it is correct. I have tried sending myself messages and it still doesnt work.
When my samsung went out I originally put my sim card in a TMobile nokia. I had the same text messaging problem on that phone as well even though it originally came from tmobile.
Could this be a problem with my sim card just not working correctly on Nokias? I really have no idea what else could be the problem.

Most phone allow you to add the + sign by holding down the zero key for like 2 seconds, refer to your manual or try holding down the key on the key pad that has the 0 on it.

Are you using 11-digits to send the text message, the Service Center Number that is programmed into the handset is a central number therefore you must use 11-digits
You need T-Zones that allows you to access the wap-based Internet sites to access the Internet using your Cingular handset, refer to the user’s manual with regards to how to access the Internet there should be a quick access number
Send yourself a test text message to verify that the person you’re sending the text message to will receive it
