I have a Nokia 6340i that I got off of eBay and when I put my SIM card in, the display continues to say "Insert SIM Card". The SIM card works in my Samsung X427. Do I need to call Cingular or something or is the phone broken?
thanks,
glen

I noticed I had the same problem with my unlocked ATT Moto V600 but after couple seconds it recognized the SIM . Is the placement of the SIM in there correctly where the connectors are reading the SIM ok? You may want to try to get someone at a Cingular store to try another SIM in it. If the problem persists, you can always see if a nice Cingular store rep can do a swap for you, as long as your service is not too old. It doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck!

Thanks, I cleaned the connectors and put in a different SIM (from my other X427) and no luck. I bought this off of eBay, so maybe the phone just doesn't work. I may try to drop by my Cingular store as I have been a customer since '96.
Thanks,
