Hi All,

I have the same problem, I have a v188 motorola bought through T-Mobile. I want to add new wallpapers to my phone. I have the programs, the phone is recognised by the computer. But nothing more, i can't upload images to my phone.

Also, I could not understand a single word of what veilfore89 said.

Ufky, I understand you had my same problem and that you solved it. Could you write something in easy words for computer ignorant people.

Please, I hope you read this forum.

Veilfore89, if you could write the same message in a simple way, that would be helpful. For instance you say F6 and so on ... I can't undersand.

F6 is only a shortcut. You can click on MENU then SETUP then GENERAL SETUP.

I have a v188 from T-Mobile and I have the exact same problem described by several people. When using Motorola Phone Tools upon detecting the type of the phone it says "not accessible or in use by another application". I've closed all processes that could possibly interfere and restarted my computer several times. The problem persists. Upon manual selection (GSM->v188) the application does show the main screen; however it is permanently stuck at "initializing...please wait" and shows a tiny graphic of a cell-phone with a crossed out blank space above it. My service provider is T-Mobile and the phone is part of a contract, meaning that yes it is locked with a subsidiary code for 24 months, but in my understanding that should only affect me not being able to switch providers. If anyone can be of any assistance, I'd be grateful.

Edit: If this matters, I did not specifically buy a separate cable for the phone, but used some of the cables I had. These cables are standard USB Mini-B slot that fit certain MP3 players, PlayStation Portable, Digital cameras etc. The computer validates the connection and prompts me to install the "new hardware" so I don't believe it's the cable. (I've used 2 separate USB Mini-B cables with same effect

I have the same problem that a lot of people here are having. I have a V188 and Motorola Mobile Phone Tools installed on my Windows XP Home computer, but I only get to the point where the cell phone image shows "initializing" forever. First of all is the modem a software modem or an actual piece of hardware? The only modem that I have on my computer is the cable modem that I get my Comcast on. So if this modem is a software modem, how do I get that to install? When windows finds the phone it can't install the necessary software and when I try to do it manually I can't either. What is the solution? Thanks in advance for any help sent my way.
