I got a cable for my phone. I plug it into the USB and a little box pops up (windows XP) that says a new device is connected. I try to install the necessary files to run it, but windows says it can't find them. Anyone know where to get drivers for it?

You are going to need more than drivers to be able to transfer files between phone and pc. You will also need something like p2kman or mobile phone tools.

Hi,

New here, I didn't want to start a new topic since it must have been discussed before.

However I doubt that it has, due to the fact that V188 is fairly new to US Market (Released 4/15).

I also have a copy of Mobile Phone Tools. I cannot get connected, it gets stucked at the "Initializing" screen.

I will post the pictures here, please try to help me.

Thanks.

First Of all:

As you can see USB Drivers for the V188 are already set up.

Secondly,
When I run MPF, I am getting this screen, and it is "Initializing" forever..

This is the About screen for you to get the idea of the version I have:

When I try to send a melody/midi/mp3 to the phone, I get this error
I believe this is due to not being able to connect.. These midis work perfectly fine on my SonyEricsson T610. The screen shows MP3.

I also check to see if Address Book works, but no luck

And finally this error following above

icon_huh.gif
What am I missing? The connection is done, and during the first connection XP said "New Hardware Found" -Motorola V188- and it was installed with the drivers I had. icon_ermm.gif

If there is any guide, or any error documentations, please let me know, otherwise, I am open for suggestions.

Thank You.

General Setup (F6)
Communicaion (TAB uptop)
Change Modem
Select device manually
(I don't know what network this phone is but you should It's either GSM, CDMA or TDMA)
Then scroll down the right hand list until you find your phone.

All else should be set and you should be able to connect to the phone successfully.

Goto http://www.gsm-software.com/unlock/unlock-motorola.html then click on the link that says ... "Click here to see screenshots and instructions" from there follow thin instruction and at some point you'll be downloading drivers ... enjoy as this worked for me.

Also try removing old software that communicated with cell phones. My Nokia PC 3650 suite software may have been interfering somehow.

Also the manual configuration worked for my v188, it may just have been that, but it didnt seem to completely kick in until I killed the nokia processes.

I can get my v188 to hook up to my computer and for it to connect to mobile phone tools...sometimes. But it refuses to upload anything to my phone. The only tabs that are there are the MMS studio and the Video Studio. Help anyone?
