Hi guys, I apologise if this is a duplicate posting, have attempted to read many posts but can't find anyone in my exact situation...
I have attempted to flash my D500 and killed it.
I used the "Corona_Downloader_v32" supplied with my comm cable which, is as far as i can tell, the same as d500 downloader v3.2 available here.
I followed the insructions on the readme file supplied with my cable and software which are:
| Quote: | "cOPY tHE d500 fLASH fOLDER tO yOUR cOMPUTER fROM tHE cd
Connect 9v Battery to Cable, must be a brand new battery as this process takes approx 90 min, and if the battery fails you WILL kill your phone.
power off the phone with no sim inserted and connect phone to cable and cable to PC.
select correct com port.
com speed should be 115200.
select the BIN + TFS radio button.
press the BIN button and open the "D500DXEB5.cla" file.
press the TFS button and open the "D500DXEB58.tfs" file.
Click Start.
power the phone on when prompted.
Phone will connect, and the "Download" button will now be highlighted
click the download button and the flash will begin
Note: the entire flashing process takes approx 90 min.
Once flash has finnished, press stop
Phone successfully flashed" |
Everything seemed to go well - I got the download successful message from the downloader so I hit stop and exit. I then inserted my SIM and eagerly watched as my phone powered up, but only as far as the samsung intro and then it powered down.
I assumed there must have been a bug so got a brand new 9v battery and attempted flashing again.
2 mins in, I realised I had left the sim in, so hit stop, and took the sim out.
Then I re-started the process only to find that when it asks me to power the phone on, nothing happens when I hit the power button.
The phone is also dead and will not power up when not conected to anything.
Can anyone advise me how to get out of this mess?

Hi.
Phone needs to go to FLASH MODE.
Usually done by:
battery in phone and phone in off position.
Then press *# and hold power on button all at once
(*#power on)
This should put phone into flash mode - then just re-flash.
Please make sure battery of phone is fully charged and if using a serial cable make sure 9v battery is new.
Hope this solves your problem
