Anyone know of release dates for new phones with Verizon? I'm a ATT GSM victim, and my 1 year contract ended this month (YAAAAAY!). I would like to switch to Verizon, as I have not had service for the past 2 mths due to Cingular/ATT being such a big POS. Cingular/ATT would not send me a new phone, so I opted to try to cancel and they were going to charge me for early termination even though I GOT NO SERVICE! Anyhow.
I want the V3 which won't be out in CDMA form until probably 2006....I can wait to buy the unlocked version then. I do not want an LG phone..they just feel really cheap. I would like to stay with Nokia, Motorola, Sony, or Samsung. I really am an avid fan of the Motorola's and wish my V600 was built like my old V60 or hell, even my old Startac! But, I've grown accustomed to the menus, and especially ITap. I would like one with a camera, picture caller ID, and MP3 ringtones. I saw the A840...but nothin on the release dates. Anyone? Or can someone recommend a good phone?

The LG phones are the best dude, I don't know what you are talking about, them being cheap. I've dropped mine a million times, and it still works fine. Its scratched up like hell, but still.
Get an LG VX7000, unless you go to "middle of no where" places a lot, than get a tri-mode phone rather than an All-Digital one.

It's really just personal preference. I just havent been a fan of the LG phones that I've seen/checked out.
I'd love to know when the new phones are going to be available....otherwise maybe I will take a look at an LG if nothing else will be released anytime soon....

Usually new Verizon phones are pretty tightly held until release. Why create hype on a phone thathas yet to pass manufactuerers engineering tests and Verizon's testing. Until it passes muster, no reason to go out and announce it. So, to ask, you probably won't know anything for sure until shortly before it is out.

I see that this site shows the Moto A840 or the E815 with release date of Q2 of 2005...which would be NOW!!! anyone know when this is going to be available cuz i'd like to get into a new Moto phone....and not have them released 3 weeks after signing a contract.

The A840 is out now but it really only is a global phone with a US CDMA an international GSM. As for the E815, I wished I knew. I just washed my V710 a few weeks ago and that woulda been nice as a replacement. The dates that are given aren't really generated by Verizon but by the manufacturer.

I've heard mid July pretty consistently so I would assume then. They are anticipating a testing results next week, then a few weeks for ramp time before they phone hits the shelves.
