is there any chance that t-mobile could possibly go bankrupt becasue they have a low amount of customers compared to other providers of if they would ever merge with cingular becasue they are both GSM?

T-Mobile is owned by Duetch Telekom or w/e. They have many wireless customers in Europe, so it won't matter probably.

No from what i understand before cingular merged with ATT they wanted to merge with us but we declined them. As tia said, we are owned by Deutch Telekom and in eurpoe they are huge. So i highly doubt a merger between us and anyone else.

i see...I forgot they are so big internationally....I think the offer the most coverage internationally anyways...good game. another question, i love right by a t-mobile tower and my school maybe a mile or not even away...it is hard times getting coverage inside of there with t-mobile and thats the closest tower to the school anyways, yet other prodivers get better service..why is that?

Could be your phone, but regardless no service provider can guarentee service inside a building. Do other people with T-Mobile have the same problem in the building or just you?

it is pretty simple . t mobile doesnt get good service in your school because GSM sucks. i have suncom. its GSM.The GSM signal doesnt bounce around as well as CDMA or TDMA. there for, it doest work as well in the mountains. or anywhere something is in the way. leaves on trees in the summer time effect it as well. people tend to think that GSM is "better" because the rest of the world uses it. well the only thing "better" about GSM is data transfers are faster, but that doest really matter if you cant get a signal. GSM is also cheaper to maintain. that is the only reason cell phone companys are leaning to GSM. because it costs them less money. and they make more $$$$$$

Ok.so. GSM is TDMA, but a specific kind of TDMA. It requires a sim card to program the mobile number to the handset. Regular TDMA does not (its done over the air to a chip built into the handset). The wireless interfaces for both GSM and TDMA are identical except for the frequency used. They can both run on the same frequencies, but thats all up to the spectrum that is owned by the carrier deploying it. Lower frequencies penetrate dense objects (like a brick wall) more than higher frequencies. The trade off is voice quality. The higher the frequency, the better the voice quality, but it will not go through walls as well as the lower frequency lower voice quality frequencies. Hope this helps.
