Just got a v600 (refurbished) and the user's manual was a COPY of the real thing ( i think!), but copied badly. Anyway, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make the phone alert me when I receive a text message! Can someone out there help me please????

After going to ring styles, the only things listed are...style, ring lights, and event lights. Why is my phone different then others? Could this have something to do with it being refurbished?

No its not because your phone is refurbished. Make sure that you push the volume adjustment on the left side of the phone to make sure that the phone isnt on silent or vibrate then go through the procedure duc listed above, If you ringer is set to loud then go to loud detail.

Under style, the only option is loud, silent, vibrate, or vibrate and ring. And no, the phone is definitely NOT on silent or vibrate! It's ringing, just not making a sound when I get a text or even have a caller leave a voice message.

I dont know dude, I have the option under ring styles on my Rogers V600 and Duc has it on his Cingular V600 maybe you should try taking it to a store (possibly easier if someone can look at it) thats wierd. Have you done any mods to it?
