I spoke 2 a Verizon Rep. in Brooklyn, NY 2day. The VX8100 is expected 2 B released in August 2005 BUT will they strip Bluetooth to disable OBEX capabilities AGAIN as they did with the Motorola v710 & new e815? Verizon also expects 2 carry the RAZR by end of 2005. I'm waiting 4 D RAZR.

Yo when is the LG VX8100 really gonna come out?? My neighbor just spoke from a Verizon rep today and said that the VX8100 won't be released until this July 15th! What's goin on? Alotta other people on the forums been saying that it came out today in corp. stores and yesterday at Bestbuy and Circuit City!
More time to kill I guess.....

If you call customer service care, you can actually order the phone now.
I ordered the LG VX 8100 July 8th and they are fedexing it to my house as we speak. It will be in my hands by tommorrow morning
I spoke to a VZ rep and it is true that they already have them in their stores, but they are not going to release them until this friday, so you can only go through customer service to get it any earlier.
You can also look at the manual online, but you have to use this address:
http://cache.vzw.com/multimedia/mim/lg_vx8100/index.html
I hope that this has helped.
I know it made me happy.

I talked to one of the sale reps the other day and he told me that the 8100 would be partially disabled as far as BT. He said that Verizon is doing this to protect its customers from hackers, scammers and other low-lifes that would use the BT capabilities to put viruses on the phone. Apparently, they have a huge problem with this in Europe where BT is not partially disabled. He said that a person could be walking down the street or in a restraunt over there and be infected frome as far as 30 feet away and not have a clue as to who or when they got infected. I don't know if there is any truth to this rumor, but that is what he claimed the reason Verizon does this and will continue to do this to all BT phones until they can improve upon security.

Is it true that the 8000 has better pic quality then the 8100 because of the sensor?
