I am new to this. Brand new phone (LG VX8100). I just want to put custom ring tones on it. I can get the phone to rocognize the computer (port enabled) but the computer doesnt leave the connection enabled. It sees the phone long enough to recognize it but then it tries to treat it lika a modem for the internet. I do not know much about blue tooth. Is there a special way I need to configure the connection? When I start Bitpim it sees the connection on port 41 but cannot connect to the phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. icon_confused.gif

Hi my name is Diane and i'm having a problem with my bt earpiece. It was working fine till yesterday--suddenly my phone --the 8100 won't connect with bt. it says that "paired device is disconnected" and when i try to connect it says "Bluetooth is busy"
can anyone help me get my bt back. by the way the bt is the plantronics 510.

I just got the new LG8100 and I went to myxertones.com to create my own ringtone by using a CD that was downloaded into my computer. Everything went fine, but when they text messaged me my ringtone, it saved under sounds and not ringtones. There is no option to set my sound as a ringtone, so I was wondering how to get that sound into my ringtone file. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

Well unfortunately you can't use the sites that "PIX MESSAGE" tones to your phone since they are now saved in the "My Sounds" folder instead of "My Ringtones" you are much better off using the instructions above for BitPim or another installation software for the 8100.

is there anyone who has a mac that is using BitPim to transfer files to your vx8100 via bluetooth? I see everyone talking about putting ringtones on their phones using a pc, but for some reason the steps laid out are not working for me?? Is there something I am missing. Keeps saying it can't communicate with the phone even though I am paired?? Thanks
