Just got out of Circuit City. The Verizon guy said not to expect the VX8100 until December based on comments from the president of Verizon??? Anyone heard anything different? I was under the impression it was supposed to be released this month?

The president doesn't provide phone release information to anyone, much less associates. I would assume that he wouldn't even know. So, I wouldn't put much stock in what the Circuit City person said. The phone becomes available when it is certified on the network and that could be soon or several months depending on reception, software or any other issues. When it's certified, it will be out and no one can guess until it get's certified.
...and no one know what that is outside of a select few engineers and marketing people.

I don't believe everything I read. But sounds like the LG VX-8100 and Motorola E-815 could be coming out on or around June 27th. It sounds like the phone information is going out to local stores of when the phones are available. Sounds like they're getting ready for the summer cell phone buying season. (is there a cell phone season?)
And Verizon also has new promotions attached to the vx-8000 on their website. My guess is to get rid of as many of the dated phones as possible before the 8100 comes out.
But I won't have money to buy the 8100 until August, oh well. Everyone send me a dollar.

If the 8100 comes out this month, I will send you a dollar. And if Verizon lets me trade the 8000 I got last week for it, I will give you another dollar.

I'll take you up on the first deal. But c'mon, you know Verizon wouldn't be that nice. I also heard the phone is $250.00 with a two year deal. Kind of expensive.

Okay, at least the e815 will be out sooner rather than later. Motorola has a promo where they are giving one away with a bluetooth headset. The promo ends 6/27/05. Award to be made 6/30/05. So at least a few will be out by then whether Verizon wants it out or not!
I'm hoping the 8100 comes out at the same time.

i work at a verizon retailer store...and we've gotten rebates for the vx8100..that starts at june 20th...and ends at the end of august...i'm hoping it'll come out sometime in between...
over all ...the phone doesn't too bad...but the looks of the phone..i'd have to see it in real life
