Is it a serial cable with a switch in the middle of the cable? If yes, check and make sure the switch is in data position.
What software are you using? EasyGPRS or PIMS?
Make sure File - setup in EasyGPRS/PIMS are using COM1 for Ports and 115200 for Speed.
If the aboves doesn't help and you have another computer, install EasyGPRS / PIMS in the other computer and try. Since you are using serial cable, no driver is needed.

That's only good... if your wireless provider doesn't charge clearly RIPOFF prices for WAP. For me, cable is clearly cheaper than WAP in all counts.

By the way, did you download the E315 PIMS & File Manager and not one for other model?
Another thing is you have to select and open the Sounds folder under My phone first before you select the ringtone as the ringtone has to go to that folder only and not My Photo or Pictures. |
I'm having the same problem, but mine goes a little deeper than this person's. Is there a way for me to crop a song so that I can use a small piece of it as a ringtone? I have a massive cd collection (old and new) and would like to use songs from them as my ringtones. Also, what formats do the file mgr. and e315 phone support. If I have a clip that is in .wav format, can I change it to *.mmf or *.mms then upload thru file mgr. Because the folder stays grey no matter what sound I click on on my pc.
One more thing...how can i make a personalized ringtone for text messaging on the samsung e315 Hope I asked right so you can answer right oh great God of the cell phone world.

bkidd214,
You sure can convert wav to mmf. Check the following thread:
http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic3430-0-asc-0.html
Just make sure the music is shorter than 10 seconds or the resulting mmf file is <40K.
As for uploading it to your phone using PIMS & File Manager. When you are in the File Manager window, expand My Phone and then open the Sounds folder. After that select the mmf ringtone that you want to upload and click on the upload icon which should be highlighted.

The download runs and installs okay, but seems to be in Korean, not English (even when you select English).

Wait! Which one did you downloaded? PIMS for E315 or PC link V2000 for A660? If it is the latter one, it is indeed a Korean version. For English version of PC Link 2000, check the following thread:
