Can the v3 be unlocked? My mom bought me the phone on E-bay but didn't know about it being locked for t-mobile. When I put my sim in and it shows "subsidy password". Any help would be great!

Yes it can be unlocked, you can try to get a sim subsidy unlock code from T-Mobile (I dont care what the Customer care rep says it can be done) these types of unlocks are not always successful as you are not getting the subsidy code from the carrier the phone is branded for. Or you can talk to OLD FOOL in the motorola forum, he has a smartclip and is very trustworthy the only catch would be that you need to pay for shipping to him and back he can unlock your phone in about 10 seconds.

I just unlocked my v3 today myself and it took less than 5 minutes. If you're willing to fork out $45 then go to the website "unlockitnow.com" and the rest is easy. You will need a USB data cable and unlockitnow software that's a small program you can download from the email sent to your email account by Unlockitnow. You will need to be connected to the internet when you use the unlock software. You can get both the cable and software as a package deal from unlockitnow. Please follow the unlocking instructions carefully. They will send you a username and password to use the software needed to unlock your phone. It's really easy and I had no problems at all! The good news is if you decide to go this, you'll receive your username and password immediately following the $45 dollar payment. It's worth it! Have fun!

Cut the Mp3 into 20-30 second clips (using Audacity or Mp3 cutter)

Go into the multimedia section of Mobile Phone Tools, then mobile explorer and upload the tones from the pc to the phone.

So, if I wanted to unlock my razor myself, I would need a smartclip?

Is there a free way of unlocking it, like can I find a program to dl somewhere ? I know I can pay some website for their program but if there was a way around that would be great. Thanx!
