Does Cingular do their own tech support or do they contract it out?

Probably have both cingular and outsource technical support call centres.

I just came from cingular and had a ton of problems because I had a AT&T sim card but cingular carrier. Cingular has purchased AT&T so to get repirs made you need to go to the old AT&T stores for anyone to obtain your records.
BTW- I flashed my phone and all went well. I then added another flash that would not flex the phone and now it turns on and off on it's own every minute and a half. I cannot connect via the USB or call out. Does anyone know what the tech.s do to reset the phone so it can be loaded when you cannot communicate throught the USB connection???

Try removing sim and see if it gets stuck at the insert sim screen.
Or start in boot loader mode *+#+power. Then flash with MONSTER FLASH, doesnt always work but let hope because flashing voids your warranty anyways lol. Good luck

to my knowledge, Cingular doesn't outsource customer service or tech support. We're American, and union, and proud of it.

Colleene, Cingular has a call center in Saskatewan Canada. 9 out of 10 times the outsourcers kill in the insources in stats anyways, they come at a lower cost and the centers dont cost the company as much lol.

I'm Canadian... I'm Cingular
... and I'm non-union
there are at least 3 outsourced call centers in Canada... 2 are orange and 1 is blue
