Hi. I have multiple mobile phones in my home (all V551) and am considering buying MPT with bluetooth connectivity. Mostly want to transfer ringtones, pictures, etc, to/from the phone and PC. My question is whether or not anyone has successfully managed multiple phones on one PC using MPT. If so, any gotchas?

Only thing I can think of is to at least be sure to change the bluetooth identifiers on the phones to distinguish one from the other from the PC. Other hints? Thanks in advance.

Naw, you should be fine after changing the names, I use the data cable for multiple phones, 4 V551's and a T720i, It handles all of them without a fuss. (Ensure you allow MPT sufficient time to release the modem before connecting a new phone, or disconnecting current phone)

Need some follow up assistance please. I did buy MPT and was able to get it working with a couple of V551s, using two MPT profiles. One thing I can't figure out is that after I added the 2nd profile for the 2nd phone (which worked fine), when I tried to use the 1st profile/phone the next day, MPT connected to the 2nd phone instead, not the 1st phone the profile was originally associated with.

I deleted and added the profile again, and was able to connect to the 1st phone again. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Clues appreciated.

When you start the program it asks what profile you wish to use, Ensure you select the correct one. Other than that it sounds normal to me.

Selecting the profiles correctly, so something else is going on. Also running into the never ending "initializing" others have mentioned when I switch to a different profile. Seems like it works ok with the last phone/profile I add, but not the other ones.

I can get it working again by deleting the profile, creating it "new" again, go through the bluetooth discovery, and then I'm back in business. But the other phones will no longer work correctly if I stop and restart MPT. icon_sad.gif

Suspect it is something going on with bluetooth, but not sure.

Ensure you update it to the latest version possible. Then let me know. Usually my connection errors occurred in any version below 3.25b so maybe this will help you. If not then thats definately a driver problem.

I upgraded MPT before I started setting the profiles up. Currently running the version you mentioned, 3.25b.

Why would you suspect it may be a driver prob as opposed to something wacky with MPT? It seems to always work with whatever phone/profile that was added last. Are you thinking that some type of residual driver "memory" is hanging around, so even though MPT says "connect to phone 1", the bluetooth driver ignores it and always trys to communicate with the last phone/profile it was successfully used with? If that was the case, I would think that simply deleting/re-adding a phone profile wouldn't correct this (which it does). Of course, I'm a bit out of my realm of expertise re this subject icon_wink.gif

Just a pain having to constantly delete/re-add. You would think since I'm using all Motorola software, drivers, bluetooth dongle, and phone I wouldn't be running into this mess. icon_sad.gif

Heres the deal, it seems that they got their heads together in v 3.25b as I have had no phone read errors since, as I did in the buggy 3.11 version. And I don't think its necessary to switch profiles, try using only 1 profile and it should all work the same, probably less confusing to the program too.
