Another victim! If you believe that you bought a stolen phone, you should report it to ebay at once since it is against the policies of ebay:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/stolen.html

The above link is for ebay USA, you may have to search similar page from your local ebay.

Hope that ebay can give you some advice.

Never buy second hand cellphone unless you can get proof of ownership from seller.

I would look into flashing your phone couldnt hurt and it sounds like the issue is software related in the first place. Read more in the flashing and firmware section of the samsung talk forum.

d500,

I think it is very bad for ebay not to take any action since more and more users are suffering and it will soon hurt ebay as well in long term as people get scare away or some may even take class-action lawsuit against them. ebay is a good concept until bad people take advantage of it.

Agreed js1662 but it always comes down to "its your word against mine" "whats to say it didnt happen when you received the phone" and ebay cant be expected to reimburse because everyone would be abusing it then.

True, it is not an easy problem to solve but that doesn't justify for not taking any action. Unless we all agree that ebay is an uncontrollable and unregulated place and if anything happens, you are on your own and blame everything on bad luck. Never mind, I never use ebay myself, lol.
